Constantino Parente: Lewis Hamilton wins Singapore Grand Prix to extend lead over Sebastian Vettel to 40 points

LEWIS HAMILTON has taken a firm grip on the world title battle after victory at the Singapore Grand Prix saw him extend his leas to 40 points.

Hamilton converted the brilliant pole position to collect maximum points with another comfortable drive – and main rival Sebastian Vettel could only manage a third place finish.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen held off the Vettel challenge to take second, and in doing so he has helped British ace Hamilton move closer to his fifth world title.
